Just three weeks after acquiring Jaroslav Halak (Yahr-rh-slav HAH'-lak), the St. Louis Blues have signed the goaltender to a four-year contract.

Terms of the deal announced Tuesday were not disclosed. STLtoday.com, the website for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, reports the contract is for $15 million.

Halak is 25 and was acquired from Montreal on June 17. He was 26-13-5 for the Canadiens last season, ranked fourth in the NHL with a .940 save percentage and ninth in goals against average, 2.40. He earned notoriety in the first round of the playoffs by winning three straight games over favored Washington, stopping 131 of 134 shots.

Also Tuesday, the Blues announced a one-year contract extension with forward Cam Janssen.
