Three Bulldogs named All-South

Three Harrisburg wrestlers earned All-South honors recently, while a total of six Bulldogs were named to the Southern Illinois River-To-River Ohio All-Conference Team.
Headlining in the All-South list were Bradyn Whiting, Rayne Jerel and Tucker Bryant. Those same three, along with Chants Jaeger, Bryant Lester and Neal Martin all earned SIRR Ohio honors.
Whiting captured the IHSA Class 1A Regional at Carterville, wrestling in the 160-pound division. Whiting (26-11), beat Carterville's Ethan Lannom and Anna-Jonesboro's Bryce Ling, before posting a 5-4 decision win over Herrin's Dustin Hendrix in the championship match.
Jerrel, who was 16-15 this season, made it to the 195-pound weight class championship at the Carterville Regional, before falling to Benton's Logan Williams.
Bryant was 30-5 this past season, winning the 220-pound weight class at the Carterville Regional. At the Vandalia Sectional, Bryant lost in the championship.
Jaegers, who was 21-14 on the season in the 106-pound division notched a first round regional win at Carterville, took home the consolation bracket championship after a second round loss.
Lester was 28-10 on the year in the 182-pound weight class and after like Jaegers won the consolation bracket at the Carterville Regional.
Martin wrestled in the 285-pound weight class and was 21-12 this season. He beat Herrin's Tony Pena in the first round and then fell to Carterville's Luke Smolak.
