With a balanced scoring attack, the Chester Lady Jackets beat Trico 62-48 in a Black Diamond Conference matchup at home last week.

The two schools will meet again Thursday at Trico before the Lady Jackets wrap up the regular season at 1 p.m. Saturday when they host Vienna. Seniors Destiny Williams, Trinity Brown, Ally Rowold and Audrey Hopper will be honored during senior day.

Williams had 17 points to lead the Lady Jackets against Trico, followed by Alyssa Seymour with 15 and Kendall Williams with 12. The Jackets outrebounded the Lady Pioneers 21-22 and recorded 11 steals.

Trico was led by Sam Cotton with 25 points but it wasn't enough to overcome the strong effort from the Lady Jackets. With the win, Chester is now 23-5 overall and 5-3 in conference play.

Also last week, they thumped Christopher, 67-40 and were edged out by Sesser-Valier 66-65.

Against Christopher, they had another balanced scoring attack with five players in double digits led by Reese Chandler with 16. Chester swept the season series against Christopher.

At Sesser, the Lady Red Devils got revenge for an earlier loss and ended a 12-game winning streak for Chester. Sesser outscored Chester 19-13 in the final quarter, overcoming a five-point deficit and hanging on at the end when Brown's last second layup wouldn't fall.

Williams led the scoring for Chester with 26 points.

Once the season concludes Saturday, it's on to the Columbia regional in the IHSA 2A tournament. Chester, seeded third, has a first-round bye and will play the winner of (5) DuQuoin vs. (12) Belleville Althoff at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
