Harrisburg finishes week 4-1 at CWCIT

Harrisburg racked up four wins at the Carmi-White County Invitational Tournament last week, bookended by a pair of Saturday wins where the Bulldogs beat Mt. Carmel 57-48 in the morning session and capped off the tournament with a 78-44 victory against Mt. Vernon, Ind.,
The game with Mt. Carmel was marred by technical fouls, but the Bulldogs held steady and held off a late run to beat the Aces.
Andrew Bittle had a game-high 19 points, including four three-pointers, while Will Gibbs tacked on 13 points and Michael Godsey got 11 to finish in double figures.
Zayne Hayes netted nine for the 'Dogs, while Brannden Watson had five points.
In the win over Mt. Vernon, Ind., Harrisburg (7-10) put nine players in double figures as Hayes led all scorers with 23 points. Godsey and Gibbs both finished in double figures with 15 and 13, respectively.
Bittle netted nine, while Barners added eight points. Jesse Lawler finished with five points, while Nate Lawrence and Watson both tossed in two points. Ben Brombaugh had a free throw in the win.
Harrisburg 57, Edwards County 35
Harrisburg jumped out to a 18-7 first quarter lead and never looked back in a 57-35 win over Edwards County Friday night at the CWCIT.
Bittle was the only player to score in double figures, finishing with 14 points as nine other players found their way into the scoring column.
Godsey and Watson both had eight points, while Hayes scored seven points. Javie Beal and Gibbs each chipped in with six points, while Ben Brombaugh finished with four points. Jesse Lawler tacked on two points, while Darion Barners and Andrew Unthank each threw in a free throw.
Bittle made the All-Tournament Team and was joined by Kaleb Applebey (Mt. Carmel) Ethan Mahon (CWC), Kaleb Dosher (Mt. Vernon), Kane Hixenbaugh (Fairfield) and Landon Zurliene (MVP, Fairfield).
