The Harrisburg wrestling team placed 10 individuals and took fourth overall at this past weekend's Lawrence County Invitational.
Robinson won the event with a 247, while Mt. Carmel placed second, scoring a 203.50. Olney was third with 158 and the Bulldogs were fourth at 139.
Rounding out the field in order was Fairfield (126), Lawrenceville (106), Carmi (81.50), Carterville (66) and Herrin (65).
Harrisburg got one first place finish, one second place finish, two third place finishes, while six wrestlers placed fifth and one wrestler finished sixth.
"We have a very young and inexperienced group this year but were able to place 10 individuals," Harrisburg head coach Greg Langley said. "I hope that we continue to improve as we get more experience as the season continues on."
Tucker Bryant brought home the top prize for Harrisburg, beating Robinson's Rodger Cromwell by pitfall in the 220-pound division. Bryant, a senior, was 2-0 on the day.
The lone second place finish belonged to Chantz Jaegers (106), who lost to Mt. Carmel's John Wood in the championship bout. Jaegers, a sophomore, went 1-1 on the day.
Tysen Satterfield picked up one of two third place finishes for Harrisburg on the day, as the sophomore went 2-1 in the 138-pound division and beat Olney's Aaron Hammon with a pinfall. Rayne Jerrell, a sophomore, finished third in the 195-pound division, going 2-1 and beating Carmi's Cody Nausley.
Those who finished fifth for Harrisburg were freshman Sebastian Brown, who went 2-1 in the 113 -pound weight class. Sophomore Garrett Bebout, who went 1-1 in the 120-pound weight class. Sophomore Blake Reed, who went 2-1 in the 126-pound weight class. Junior Nolan Deaton was also fifth in the 170-pound division and went 2-1 on the day. Bryant Lester, a sophomore, was 2-1 in the 182-pound weight class. Neal Martin, a sophomore, was 1-2 in the 285-pound weight class and was fifth.
Harrisburg junior Brayden Whiting took sixth in the 160-pound division and was 1-2 on the day.
