Hawks go 3-2 at Hamilton County Invite

The Gallatin County girls wrapped up its play at the Hamilton County Invitational, edging Cairo 48-46 Saturday night.
Gallatin County (4-4) freshman Carly Foster led all scorers with 16 points, while Audrey Jackson finished with 14 points.
Gracie Sauls scored seven points, while Molly Newton, Hallie Zirkelbach and Makenzie Russell all finished with four points.
The Hawks led 13-11 after the first quarter and took a 24-17 lead into the locker room. Cairo outscored Gallatin County 18-14 in the third and cut the deficit to three at 38-35, but Gallatin County held off the Pilots despite being outscored 11-10 in the final eight minutes.
Paris Blake, Rajanae Moore and Camryn Mitchell all had 11 points to lead the way for the Pilots.
Gallatin County 49, Wayne City 35
Foster once again led all scorers as she popped off for 20 points in helping Gallatin County to a 49-35 win over Wayne City Saturday morning.
Jackson, who had 10 points to finish in double figures as well, reached the 1,000th point plateau in he senior season.
Russell scored seven points, while Zirkelbach finished with five points. Sauls had four points and Newton tacked on three points.
Wayne City was led by Jocelyn Hall's 15 points, while Avery Seidel had 11 points.
Gallatin County got off to a hot start, taking an 11-4 lead after the first quarter and led 23-10 at halftime.
Lawrenceville 54, Gallatin County 41
Foster and Jackson both scored in double figures as Foster led Gallatin County with 15 points, while Jackson flipped in 14 points.
Russell and Sauls each finished with four points, while Newton and Zirkelbach each had two points.
Hamilton County 57, Gallatin County 32
On Wednesday night, Hamilton County had a strong second half in beating Gallatin County 57-32.
Zirkelbach had 10 points to pace the Hawks, while Foster netted nine points in the loss. Sauls and Russell each finished with four points, while Jackson tacked on three points an Newton had two points.
Grace Lueke led Hamilton County with 18 points and was the only Fox player to score in double figures.
Gallatin County will host Eldorado on Tuesday and follow that up with a Greater Egyptian Conference game at home against Hardin County on Wednesday.
