SESSER -- Addisyn Miller scored a game-high 19 points, while Ensley Tedeschi notched double figures for the first time in her high school career, helping Benton beat Sesser-Valier 54-43 Wednesday night as the Rangerettes moved to 2-0 on the season.
Benton and Sesser-Valier were tied at 13 after one quarter of play and the Rangerettes held a slim 31-26 lead going into the locker room, but in the third quarter, thanks in large part from a combined 12 points from both Miller and Tedeschi, Benton outscored Sesser-Valier 15-4 to take a 46-30 third quarter lead.
Zoe Carlton had scored seven points for Benton (2-0), while Mady Wallace and Sesley Tedeschi each chipped in with six points and Mia Wills tacked on two points.
Benton will begin play in the Nashville Tournament, beginning Monday, where the Rangerettes will take on Collinsville at 6 p.m. On Tuesday, Benton will play Mt. Vernon at 6 p.m. and the Rangerettes will wrap up the week at Nashville on Saturday with two games, the first being a matchup with Pinckneyville, starting at 9 a.m.
