The Pinckneyville girls volleyball team is poised for a trip to the Vandalia Super-Sectional, if they can do to Mater Dei High School (of Breese) tonight what they've done to everybody else who has stood in their way this postseason.

On Monday, the girls battled and beat Breese Central High School in three sets, 25-22, 23-25 and 25-19 in a Wesclin sectional match, setting themselves up for the sectional title game on Wednesday.

Should they prevail against Mater Dei tonight, they'll head to Vandalia on Friday for the 6 p.m. super-sectional match against the winner of the Salem sectional (either Massac County or Fairfield).

To get to the sectionals, the Panthers won the Pinkneyville Regional, beating Sparta 25-14 and 25-15 and Carterville, 25-8 and 25-18.
