Harrisburg is trying to do something it hasn't done since 1973.
Eldorado is trying to do something it hasn't done since 2013. Both have two weeks left to go.
In the case of Harrisburg, the Bulldogs are looking to not go winless for the first time since 1973. Harrisburg sits at 0-6 overall and 0-4 in Southern Illinois River-To-River Ohio play and travel to Herrin Friday night.
In terms of southern Illinois conferences and teams, Harrisburg is just one of three other teams (Mt. Vernon, Pinckneyville and Vienna-Goreville) to have yet won a football game.
Since 1974, Harrisburg has won at least two ballgames each season.
A loss against Herrin Friday will put the Bulldogs' back against the wall entering Week 9 as they take on a Carbondale team that is currently 6-1 in the South Seven Conference and host Marion Friday, before playing host to Harrisburg next week.
Eldorado vs. Edwards County
Eldorado hasn't missed the playoffs since 2013 and will host Edwards County in a Saturday afternoon game at Boz Adams Field as the Eagles sit at 4-3.
Essentially, Eldorado needs five wins as the Lions come in at 3-4 and next week, Eldorado will close out the season against unbeaten Fairfield. The Mules, last week, won their 27th straight BDC game and are ranked No. 6 in the Associated Press Top 10 3A Football Poll.
