'Dogs win two mid-week games

Four hits from Will Holland helped lead Harrisburg past Carmi-White County 22-10 on Wednesday. Holland singled in the first, homered in the second, singled in the third, and singled in the fourth.
Harrisburg earned the victory despite allowing Carmi-White County to score seven runs in the second inning. Carmi-White County's big inning was driven by walks by Cole Blazier, Brody Atteberry, and Peyton Edwards, singles by Jacob Lamont and Devin Rankin, a groundout by Eric Williams, and an error on a ball put in play by Cal York.
Harrisburg pulled away for good with 13 runs in the third inning. In the third Jack Martin drew a walk, scoring one run, Javie Beal singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run, Noah Boon drew a walk, scoring one run, Ben Brombaugh drew a walk, scoring one run, Will Gibbs drew a walk, scoring one run, Holland drew a walk, scoring one run, Isaac Crabb cranked a grand slam on the first pitch of the at bat, Connor Phalin's sac-fly scored one run for the Bulldogs, and Drew Fromm singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run.
Gibbs earned the win for Harrisburg. The junior right hander went 3.2 innings, allowing two runs on four hits and striking out seven. Andrew Bittle threw 1/3 of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Brandon Banks started the game for Harrisburg. He allowed five hits and eight runs over one inning, striking out one.
Harrisburg Bulldogs Varsity smacked two home runs on the day. Crabb had a homer in the third inning. Holland put one out in the second inning.
Goreville 14, Carrier Mills-Stonefort 2
Rostin Lewis, Caden Van Meter and Jeremy Choat all went 2-for-3 as Carrier Mills fell to Goreville 14-2 Wednesday afternoon.
The Wildcats used four pitchers in the loss as Colton Bets, Nate Collins, Kyle Bristown and Lewis each pitched at least one inning. Bristow went two innings, allowing two runs on two hits, while striking out one.
Betz went one inning and allowed five runs on five hits with one strikeout, while Lewis allowed three runs on two hits and Collins allowed five runs on four hits.
TUESDAY
Harrisburg 9, Benton 3
Harrisburg outhit Benton 11-2 and the Bulldogs used three pitchers to beat Benton 9-3 Tuesday in a road Southern Illinois River-To-River Ohio Conference game.
The win for the 'Dogs also puts them atop the SIRR Ohio standings as Harrisburg is now 5-2 on the season and 13-8 overall.
Harrisburg struck early, scoring five runs in the first two innings.
Jack Martin doubled in the first inning to score Will Holland and Javie Beal singled on a line drive to score Martin. Noah Boon, who reached base on a walk and advanced to second on Beal's single scored on an error.
In the second, Holland singled on a line drive to score Andrew Bittle and Crabb doubled off the fence in right field to score Holland.
The Bulldogs tacked on a run in the fourth and fifth inning and ended with two runs in the top of the seventh.
Benton's three runs all came in the bottom of the seventh.
Beal was 3-for-4 at the plate with three RBI and a run scored, while Gibbs and Bittle each had two-hit games. Bittle also scored two runs.
Connor Phalin, Holland, Crabb and Martin all had one hit as Holland drove in two runs and scored a pair, while Crabb and Martin both had an RBI.
On the mound, Crabb went six innings, tossing a no-hitter and striking out 11 on 98 pitches.
Martin pitched 2/3 of an inning and allowed three runs (none earned) on two hits, while striking out one. Boon relieved Martin and struck out one over 1/3 of an inning.
Gallatin County 21, Grayville 2
Drake Scherrer and Blake Seely were both 3-for-3, while Scherrer had a co-team-high four RBI and Seely drove in three runs as Gallatin County crushed Grayville 21-2 Tuesday.
Robbie Prince, Audie Goebel, Dustin Drone and Isaac Jester all had two hits, while Prince drove in two and scored two runs. Goebel scored three runs and finished with an RBI, while Jester finished with four RBI and a run scored. Drone drove in one run and scored a run.
Jaxon Knott went 1-for-2 with two runs scored, Wyatt Downen was 1-for-3 with two RBI and three runs scored and Garrett Rushing was 1-for-3 with three runs scored an an RBI.
Jon Cox got the start and the win for Gallatin County, working three innings and allowing two runs (one earned) on three hits, while striking out five. Downen worked one inning in relief.
Fairfield 12, Eldorado 2
Eldorado was held to just three hits in a 12-2 Black Diamond Conference loss to Fairfield Tuesday
Joe Mayberry, Hunter Sizemore and Bryant Byrd each got a hit for the Eagles.
Mayberry took the loss, working two innings and allowing seven runs (one earned) on three hits with two strikeouts and three walks. Dalton White came on in relief and gave up five runs on seven hits with a strikeout and three walks.
