Gallatin County put up eight runs in the fifth inning to beat Galatia 12-5 and then turned around and topped Carrier Mills-Stonefort 9-6 Monday at Rent One Park in Marion.
In the win over Galatia, the Bearcats outhit Gallatin County 11-8 as Braxton Lane paced Galatia at the plate going 3-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI. Caleb Reed was 3-for-3 with two runs scored, while A.J. Hankins went 2-for-3 with a run scored.
Gallatin County got a two-hit day from Wyatt Downen as he went 2-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored. Robbie Prince, Grant Bosaw, Audie Goebel, Brock Seely and Will Henson all had one hit as Prince, Henson and Drake Scherrer all scored two runs. Garrett Rushing and Goebel both scored one run. Bosaw finished with three RBI, while Brock and Blake Seely, along with Scherrer and Henson all drove in one run.
On the mound, Brock Seely picked up the win, while Audie Goebel got the save.
Seely went 3.1 innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits, while striking out two and walking one. Goebel worked 2.2 innings and allowed two runs (one earned) on three hits, while striking out four.
In the win over Carrier Mills-Stonefort, Gallatin County had a pair of three-run innings that helped them to a 9-6 win over the Wildcats.
The Hawks outhit CMSF 14-7 as Blake Seely and Downen each had three hits as Seely had a team-high four RBI and two runs scored, while Downen scored two runs as well.
Bosaw and Goebel both went 2-for-4 at the plate as Goebel scored one run, while Prince, Rushing and Scherrer all had one hit.
Rostin Lewis had a 3-for-4 performance at the plate for CMSF and scored a team-high four runs. Jeremy Choat drove in a team high four runs, while going 1-for-4. Colton Betz was also 1-for-4 with a run scored. Caden Van Meter was 1-for-3 with an RBI.
On the bump, Prince picked up the win for the Hawks, pitching six innings and allowing four runs (two earned) on four hits, while striking out five and walking one.
Jon Cox and Rushing pitched in relief as Cox allowed two runs on three hits with one strikeout.
