Joe Mayberry had a walk off single in the bottom of the seventh inning as the Eldorado baseball team picked up its first win of the season, beating Pope County 10-9 Monday afternoon at the EHS Sports Complex.
Bryant Byrd got the start on the mound and went four innings, allowing four runs on two hits, while striking out six and walking four.
Ben Byrd came on in relief and worked two innings, allowing five runs (two earned) on one hit, while striking out four and walking five. Hunter Sizemore pitched one inning, picking up the win, and striking out one.
Eldorado scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh in the come-from-behind win, as the Eagles knocked out 11 hits on the day.
Mayberry paced Eldorado at the plate, going 4-for-5 with two runs scored and an RBI.
Bryant and Ben Byrd both went 2-for-4, while Bryant drove in a team-high three runs and scored two runs. Ben scored one run.
Nolan Milligan, Dalton White and T. Milligan all had one hit with Nolan and T. both driving in one run. Ezra Burtis, who had an RBI, scored one run, as did, Nolan and T, along with White.
