Over the years, Harrisburg has produced All-State athletes that have made the Associated Press Illinois Girls Basketball Team.

The Bulldogs can now add one more to that long list.

Karsyn Davis, a 5-foot-11 senior forward, was named to this year's Class 2A AP All-State Honorable Mention Team.

Davis was named to All-Tournament Teams at Harrisburg, Benton and Eldorado this past year and she led the Bulldogs in scoring, averaging 14 points per game and 10 rebounds per game. Davis, was a 1,000 point scorer and has signed with Southeast Missouri State to play softball.

Davis now joins former Harrisburg players like Matty Hawkins, Lotte Miller, Jessica Hopson and Kelsey Hobbs

Davis was one of four other players named to the AP All-State Honorable Mention Team as she joined Vienna's duo of Haleigh Keeling and Alyssa Jones, along with Hamilton County's Anna Miller and Sesser-Valier's Sami McCowan.

Keeling, a 5-5, senior point guard, averaged 11.6 points per game for a 23-10 Vienna team that lost to Hamilton County in the Vienna 2A Regional. Keeling shot 39 percent from the field and 61 percent from the free throw line and will play basketball next season at Rend Lake.

Jones, a 5-7 senior forward will play basketball at Shawnee College next year and averaged 13.1 points per game.

McCowan averaged 13.5 points per game for a Sesser-Valier team that finished 22-5 this past season. McCowan was part of a program that lost one Black Diamond Conference game in four years. McCowan shot 45 percent from the field, 40 percent from 3-point range, 81 percent from the free throw line and 4.2 rebounds per game. McCowan signed with Rend Lake College to play basketball.

In Class 1A, only Elverado's Allie Whittington and Goreville's Payton Sopczak were named to the All-State Honorable Mention Team.
