CARTERVILLE -- Seven players reached double figures as the John A. Logan College men's basketball team cruised to a 108-56 win over Southeastern Illinois College on Saturday afternoon at Brewer Gymnasium.

Jayden Scrubb, who was doubtful with a thumb injury, came out on fire and scored 18 of his 22 points in the first half, including four 3-pointers. Scrubb also had 10 rebounds.

Vonnie Patterson matched Scrubb for game-high honors with 22 points, while David Sloan also posted a double-double with 10 points and 10 assists.

Three players added 11 points each: Antwan Campbell, Chris Harris and Jonah Jackson.

The last player to reach double figures was Marion's Justin Saddoris, who netted a career-high 10 points with two 3-pointers and a pair of layups.

The Vols jumped out to a 17-2 lead and led 57-31 at halftime.

Logan, which was most recently fifth in the NJCAA Division I national rankings, is now 21-3 overall and 12-1 in the Great Rivers Athletic Conference. The Vols were coming off a loss at Wabash Valley but remain in first place in the conference.

Southeastern Illinois, which has lost 13 straight, is now 3-20 overall and 0-13 in the GRAC. The Falcons were led by Demaris Nance with 19 points.

In the early game, the SIC women defeated Logan, 73-64, to drop the Lady Vols to 13-11 overall. Johnecia Kyles led Logan with 18 points and Lyric Campbell had 15.

Logan's men play at Lewis and Clark on Wednesday night, then both teams play this coming Saturday at Southwestern Illinois College in Belleville.
