'Dogs, Eagles pick up wins

On Tuesday night, Harrisburg and Eldorado each picked up wins on the hardwood, while Gallatin County took Thompsonville to double overtime and fell by two points to this year's regular season and tournament Greater Egyptian Conference champions.
Harrisburg 53, Meridian 49
Harrisburg won their second straight game and fifth of the season with a 53-49 win over Meridian Tuesday night at home.
Will Sanders, the lone senior who was recognized prior to the start of the game, had a game-high 18 points for the Bulldogs, while Andrew Bittle also finished in double figures, tacking on 11 points.
Darion Barners netted nine points, while Zayne Hayes scored six points, Will Gibbs finished with five points and Jesse Lawler tossed in four points.
Harrisburg will travel to Benton on Friday night and will be at Murphysboro on Saturday.
Eldorado 42, Carmi-White County 33
Eldorado put two players in double figures and EHS head coach Josh Bradley picked up win No. 99 with a 42-33 Black Diamond Conference victory over Carmi-White County Tuesday night.
Joe Mayberry had 16 points for the Eagles, while Laadayyeah Shewmaker added 11 points in the win.
Byrant Byrd finished with five points, while Nolan Milligan and Townsend Barton each flushed four points. Aiden Whitlock added two points for Eldorado in the win.
Adam Phelps had a team-high 12 points for Carmi-White County.
Thompsonville 48, Gallatin County 46 (2 OT)
Despite not scoring a single point in the first quarter, Gallatin County took Thompsonville to the limits, losing 48-46 in double overtime Tuesday night.
With the win, Thompsonville wins the Greater Egyptian Conference regular season title and improve to 24-2 overall and 7-0 in league play.
Gallatin County (18-9, 6-1) got a team-high 13 points from Audie Goebel, while Garrett Rushing netted nine points. Lucas Reeder and Dawson Hish each added eight points, while Gunnar Wilson scored six points.
Kessler and Fritch each finished with 14 points for Thompsonville, while Darge tacked on 13 points. Furlow scored six and Roberts tossed in a free throw.
