Lady Wildcats turn back Cahokia

MARION -- The Marion High School girls basketball team used a big third quarter to beat Cahokia, 52-35, in a South Seven Conference game Saturday afternoon at Cuss Wilson Gymnasium.
Cahokia held a 12-10 lead after the first quarter, but Marion pulled ahead and led 26-22 at halftime. The Lady Wildcats opened the second half on a 15-5 run to pull away.
McKenzie Orange led Marion with 16 points and Jackie Drury had 11, with seven coming in the fourth quarter. Quinisha Emanuel added eight points, Daishen Wolaver had seven and Jordan Turner had six.
Marion improved to 7-13 overall and 1-4 in the South Seven with the win.
The Lady Wildcats play at home Tuesday night against Carbondale.
