EHS girls put two in double figures in loss at Goreville

Paige Munds had a team-high 15 points, while Jade Hise also scored in double digits, dropping 12 points, but the Eldorado girls' basketball team dropped a 68-40 contest to Goreville on the road Friday night in the season opener for both ballclubs.
Emma Wargel scored seven points for EHS (0-1), while Lilly Mosby finished with four points and Lacey Hobbs tacked on two points.
Sopczak scored a game-high 23 points for Goreville as she knocked down four 3-pointers in the win for the Bearcats (1-0). Lexi King and Breanna Stout also scored in double figures with King adding 18 points and Stout tacking on 10.
Eldorado was scheduled to play Monday against Carmi-White County in the Harrisburg Invitational and will return to Harrisburg tonight to play Anna-Jonesboro at 6 p.m. The Harrisburg Invite runs through the end of the week with the Eagles playing host Harrisburg in the nightcap Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
