The Harrisburg volleyball team got wins at all three levels and celebrated Senior Night as the Bulldogs beat Anna-Jonesboro in three sets 19-25, 25-17 and 25-20.
"We celebrated our four seniors, Devin Butler, Josie Drone, Mackenzie Marshall, and Madeline Rider before sending them off with a win," Harrisburg head coach Heather Cox said. "Emotions were running on high due to senior night and I think it got us a little rattled early on in set 1. We had far too many errors and mistakes that we hadn't had all season. Once we settled down and took the floor for set 2, we got back to what we do best which is tough defense."
Cox added that the 'Dogs' tough defense gives more opportunities which led to 35 team kills against A-J.
Marshall had 26 digs for the night. Sophomore Middle Autumn Rain Harrawood had 4 blocks. Rider led with 19 kills and Drone added in 11 kills. Butler had 34 assists on the night.
"It was a tough battle tonight, but a great opportunity to send our seniors off with a win," Cox added. "These seniors are the real deal, the complete package. They work hard in the gym, on the court and in the classroom. In addition, they set the tone for class and kindness. I personally love these four seniors and am so blessed to have coached and taught them for seven years."
