CMSF fares well at West Frankfort

At West Frankfort earlier this week, the Carrier Mills-Stonefort boys' cross country team was sixth out of 13 teams, finishing with 183 points.
Vienna won the event with 64 points, while Pinckneyville was second with 68 points. Anna-Jonesboro was third with 124 points, while West Frankfort rounded out the top five, finishing with 171 points.
After Carrier Mills' sixth place finish, Crab Ochard (193), Massac County (221), Murphysboro (248), Goreville (299), Thompsonville (329), Cobden (337) and Eldorado (365) rounded out the field.
The Wildcats were led by Aidan Rollins' sixth place overall finish. Other finishes for CMSF included: Cameron Owens (39) 19:43, Jacob Sandy (40) 19:49, Brandon Hambleton (48), Kyle Bristow (50), Jacob Reeves (57) 21:06 and Trey Collins (76).
Abby Whiting was the top girl finisher for CMSF, finishing 20th overall with a time of 23:15. Jordan Burnham was 34th with a time of 25:20 and Laura Talandis had a time of 29:25.
"I thought the boys ran well today," said CMSF head coach Mike Eisenhauer. " I was really happy with the way Kyle Bristow and Jacob Reeves ran today. They ran by far their best times of the year today. They really closed the gap between our fourth and fifth runners. Abby Whiting also ran a strong race today."
