Harrisburg girls win own Invite

Despite just having two girls' teams in the Harrisburg Invitational this past week at Southeastern Illinois College, the Harrisbug girls' cross country team took the title with 50 points, getting by Galatia, who finished with 74 points.
For the Bulldogs, Hannah Reid finished fifth with a time of 28:27, while Emily Jeffries was eighth, crossing the line at 29:51.
Madelyn Johnson was 11th with a time of 30:32 and Shauna Ballard was 12th with a time of 31:34. Ashley Hurst was 14th with a time of 32:22. Sierra Winstead was 15th with a time of 33:35 and Claire McDermott was 17th and finished in a time of 35:40. Selina Wang had a time of 36:08 and finished 18th overall.
On the boys' side, the Bulldogs did not have enough for a team score.
Franko Teston was the top finisher for Harrisburg, taking seventh overall with a time of 21:45, while Darion Barners finished with a time of 22:59 and an 11th place finish. Josh Smith was 15th with a time of 24:06 and Ian Meshew was 33rd wtih a time of 34:06
For Carrier Mills-Stonefort, the girls were led by Abby Whiting and her third place overall finish with a time of 26:08. Jordan Burnham was seventh with a time of 29:33 and Laura Talandis was 13th with a time of 31:33.
On the boys' side, Aidan Rollins won the event with a time of 19:41, while Cameron Owens and Brandon Hambleton finished in the top 10. Owens was ninth overall with a time of 21:53 and Hambleton was 10th with a time of 22:02.
Other times for CMSF included: Jacob Sandy (13) 23:35, Kyle Bristow (16) 24:58, Jacob Reeves (18) 25:18, Trey Collins (20) 25:58 and Mason Kalodner (24) 29:01.
"I thought the kids ran well today for some hot, tough conditions," CMSF head coach Mike Eisenhauer said. "I was proud of Aidan winning the boys race in only his second cross country race ever."
