MJHS baseball edges Benton

MARION -- Nehemiah Goodman pitched a complete game three-hitter with nine strikeouts as the Marion Junior High School baseball team edged Benton, 2-1, Tuesday at the Crisp Sports Complex.
MJHS improved to 9-1 overall and 7-1 in the Big Seven Conference with the win.
Marion's first run came in the third inning when Ethan Stout walked and later scored on a two-out double by Chase Niemeyer, who had two hits.
After Benton tied it in the top of the sixth, the Wildcats went back on top in the bottom half after Evan Noelle walked, stole second and scored on an error.
Also collecting hits were Jack Harre and Justus Lee.
