Harrisburg girls hang tough at Marion Invite; Bulldog boys beat Carterville

At the Marion Invitational last week, the Harrisburg girls golf team shot a 404 as Alli Ferrell paced the Bulldogs with a team low-round of 95.

Ferrell fired a 44 on the front side of Kokopelli Golf Course and finished up with a 51 on the back.

Madison McClusky was consistent with a pair of 48's to finish with a 96, while Annabella Robison shot a 103, Gabby Adams had a 110 and Madeline DeNeal finished with a 141.

Harrisburg knocked off four teams at the Marion Invite, finishing ahead of Herrin, Carbondale, Carterville and Hamilton County. Massac County, Pinckneyville and Marion finished ahead of Harrisburg.

Harrisburg Boys

The Harrisburg boys' golf team edged Carterville 207-212 in a match late last week.

Andrew Bittle and Ashton Hall each shared low round honors for the Bulldogs as both shot a 48. Krayton Morse fired a 50, while Hayden Emery finished with a 61. Ben Brombaugh shot a 62 and Clay Brigham finished with a 64.

Carterville's Aaron Kemp took medalist honors with a 45.
