MJHS baseball team avenges lone loss

CARTERVILLE -- The Marion Junior High School baseball team avenged its lone loss of the season Thursday with an 11-1 six-inning rout of Carterville.
The Wildcats improved to 8-1 overall and 6-1 in the Big Seven Conference with the win.
Marion scored four runs in the second inning, added two in both the third and fifth frames and put up three more in the sixth.
Nehemiah Goodman was the winning pitcher with 11 strikeouts in five-plus innings. He gave up two hits and one walk, while also collecting two hits of his own at the plate.
Brody Larson, Justus Lee and Brody Long all drove in runs for the Wildcats.
