Harrisburg hammers Mt. Carmel in 2A Regional semis

An 11-run fourth inning helped propel the Harrisburg baseball team to a 16-1 victory over Mt. Carmel in the IHSA Class 2A Regional semifinals Wednesday at Hamilton County High School.
Dalton Lambert went 4-for-4 at the plate as he singled in the first, doubled in the third and two more singles in the fourth inning. Lambert also scored team-high four runs, while knocking in one run.
Jack Martin had a team-high three RBI with a 1-for-2 performance at the plate, while scoring one run.
Isaac Crabb was 2-for-3 with two RBI, while Will Holland went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBI and two runs scored.
Presley Gauch doubled, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and Easton Wallace doubled, finishing 1-for-3 with a run scored. Jacob Penrod had a hit, knocking in two runs and scoring one run and Carson Burtis went 1-for-2 with two RBI.
Burtis picked up the win, going four innings, allowing one run on two hits, while striking out nine and walking two.
Harrisburg will now play Carmi-White County Saturday at 11 a.m. The Bulldogs beat Carmi-White County 13-1 back on April 18.

Galatia 4, Gallatin County 3
A late rally wasn't enough as No. 2 seeded Gallatin County was stunned by No. 9 seed Galatia 4-3 Wednesday at the Norris City-Omaha-Enfield Class 1A Regional semifinals.
The Hawks scored three runs in the sixth inning, but couldn't overcome the three runs Galatia put up in the second and the insurance run the Bearcats added in the fifth.
Grant Bosaw and Brock Seely had a pair of singles in the sixth as Audie Goebel and Robbie Prince scored.
Aaron Walters, Garrett Rushing, Drake Scherrer, Blake Seely and Goebel all had one hit. Brock Seely drove in two runs.
On the mound, Rushing went 4.1 innings, allowing four runs (two earned) on four hits, while striking out seven and walking one. Goebel came on in relief, striking out six over 2.2 innings.
