Lady Wildcats pick up two more wins

MARION -- The Marion High School softball team defeated Carterville and Waterloo to finish out the weekend and won both to improve to 24-4.
In the win over Carterville, Kelsi Cutsinger went 4-for-4 with two RBIs and Morgan Dodd had three hits. Hannah Nalley had two hits and two RBIs, while Keira Hance and Ivy Smart also knocked in two apiece as Marion won 13-6.
Against Waterloo, the Lady Wildcats won 9-0 with Smart throwing the first no-hitter of her varsity career. The sophomore struck out four and walked two batters.
Smart was backed by home runs from Hance and freshman Tori Evans, the first of her career. Nalley and Cutsinger both drove in two runs and Morgan Andrews had two hits and scored three runs in the win.
