CARTERVILLE -- The John A. Logan College baseball team swept a three-game series against Southeastern Illinois College that began Wednesday and concluded Saturday.
Logan won a slugfest in Harrisburg on Wednesday, 19-13, then swept the Falcons in Carterville on Saturday, 10-5 and 12-0 in five innings.
The Volunteers are now 36-14 overall and 22-5 in the Great Rivers Athletic Conference.
In the wild opener, Ashton Creal had three hits and drove in four runs, Blake Johnson hit a homer and Jeremy Gaines hit a two-run triple. Sam Frontino, A.J. Lewis and Johnson all had multi-hit games.
Trey Riley, who is headed to Missouri State, started for the Vols and gave up just three runs (one earned) on three hits with 10 strikeouts to get his sixth win.
