'Dogs extend win streak to seven

The Harrisburg baseball team is riding a seven-game win streak following a trio of weekend wins, starting with a 4-0 victory over Murphysboro Friday and taking two games from Vandalia Saturday.
In the 'Dogs' SIRR Ohio win over Murphysboro Friday, Noah Boon threw a shutout, going the distance and held the Red Devils in check with just five hits on the day. The freshman struck out six finished with no walks.
At the plate, Harrisburg had 11 hits on the day as Isaac Crabb, Will Gibbs and Jack Martin all managed multiple hits for the Bulldogs. Crabb led HHS with three hits in four at bats and had a run scored. Gibbs was 2-for-4 with a run scored, while Martin finished 2-for-3.
Dalton Lambert was the hero of the game for Harrisburg, going 1-for-2 with two RBI. One RBI came in the fourth inning with a single that scored Crabb for a 1-0 lead and Lambert scored Gibbs on an RBI sacrifice-fly in the sixth inning to make it 2-0.
Presley Gauch made it a 3-0 game when he doubled to center field, scoring Ben Brombaugh, courtesy running for Crabb. Crabb then singled on a hard-hit ground ball to left field to make it 4-0 in the seventh when he scored Carson Burtis.
Easton Wallace and Burtis were both 1-for-3, joining Gauch with a hit.
On Saturday, Harrisburg took a twin bill from Vandalia, winning 10-0 and 3-1.
In Game 1, Dalton Lambert got his first win of the year on the mound, going four innings and allowing just one hit, while striking out three and walking two. Martin came on in relief and pitched one inning, giving up one hit.
At the plate, Harrisburg had nine hits as Wallace led the 'Dogs, going 2-for-3 with one RBI and two runs scored.
Will Holland, Kent Cletcher, Crabb, Lambert, Gauch, Martin and Burtis all had one hit. Holland had a triple on the day, driving in a team-high two RBI and scoring a run.
In Game 2, Crabb pitched six innings, picking up the win with a five-hitter performance. Crabb struck out six, while walking two. Burtis came on in relief and struck out three in one inning.
Harrisburg scored three runs on five hits, plating one run in the fourth and two more runs in the fifth.
Lambert went 2-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored, while Crabb, Gauch and Martin each had a hit.
Cletcher drove in one run, while Brombaugh scored one run.

ldorado 3, Gallatin County 2
A Gallatin County error in the bottom of the eighth propelled Eldorado to a 3-2 win Friday in non-conference game.
Hunter Sizemore delivered a hit down the third baseline that resulted in an error, scoring Ben Byrd for the game winner as Eldorado is now 3-11 overall.
Kolton Oglesby got the win for the Eagles, coming on in relief of Bryant Byrd. Oglesby went two innings and allowed one run on two hits, while walking two.
Byrd went 6-plus innings, giving up four runs on seven hits with nine K's and two walks.
Audie Goebel got the start for Gallatin County and went seven innings, allowing five runs (four earned) on eight hits, while walking one and striking out eight.
Brock Seely took the loss with the one run being unearned.
At the plate for Eldorado, Bryant Byrd was 3-for-3 with a run scored, while Kolton Oglesby, Braden Unthank, Jacob Traxler, Ben Byrd and Hunter Sizemore all had one hit.
Kolton Oglesby had two RBI on the day, while Traxler and Ben Byrd each had one.
For Gallatin County, Garrett Rushing went 2-for-4 with a run scored and two RBI, while Aaron Walters, Audie Goebel, Robbie Prince, Brock and Blake Seely and Drake Scherrer all had one hit.
Goebel had a pair of RBI for the Hawks, while Walters scored two runs. Prince and Blake Seely both had one run scored.

Edwards County 13, Eldorado 5
Eldorado used three pitchers in a a 13-5 Black Diamond Conference loss to Edwards County late last week.
The Eagles mustered six hits on the day as Bryant Byrd went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Nolan Milligan, Kolton Oglesby, Sizemore and Traxler all had one hit.

Edwards County 9, Eldorado 3
Mayberry took the loss on the mound for Eldorado, who is now 0-6 in BDC play, with a 9-3 loss to Edwards County last week.
Mayberry went 5.2 innings, allowing nine runs (seven earned) on nine hits, while striking out seven and walking four.
At the plate, EHS had six hits on the day with Bryant Byrd going 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Kale and Kolton Oglesby, Milligan and Traxler all had one hit. Mayberry provided an RBI, while Kale Oglesby scored two runs and Sizemore scored one run.
