MARION -- The Marion High School softball team swept a doubleheader against Cahokia, 10-0 and 20-7, Thursday at the Crisp Sports Complex.
Marion improved to 16-1 overall with 14 straight wins and a 6-0 mark in the South Seven with the two victories.
The first game was stopped after 2-1/2 innings in which Ivy Smart didn't allow a hit, walked one batter and struck out seven.
Marion's first three batters walked and Devon Davis tripled before five more walks were issued in an eight-run first inning. Smart tripled and Kelsi Cutsinger had an RBI single in the second.
Cahokia was the home team in the second game and trailed 10-0 before plating six runs in the third to keep it going.
When it was over, Andrea Roberts had two hits, Daishen Wolaver doubled twice and three RBIs, Jackie Drury had two hits, Heaven Lawrence and Jordan Turner both hit a pair of doubles, Jayda Smith scored four times and Quinisha Emanuel plated three runs.
