Harrisburg rebounds to beat Hardin County

Harrisburg rebounded from a 2-1 loss to Herrin on Tuesday to beat Hardin County 6-1 Wednesday at Harrisburg Park.
Essence Sanders picked up the win in the circle, going the distance and allowing four hits, one run (unearned), while striking out two and walking three.
At the plate, Harrisburg had just four hits on the day as Hannah Ried, Karsyn Davis, Mckenzie Marshall and Sanders were all 1-for-3. Sanders, Davis and Marshall each had an RBI.
In the loss to Herrin,
Sanders pitched 6 1/3 innings, allowing two runs on seven hits, while striking out one and walking one.
Herrin scored its run in the bottom of the seventh.
Despite scoring one run, Harrisburg had 10 hits on the day as Lexi Williams, Davis and Sanders all had a pair of hits.
Davis scored the one run in the sixth inning when MaKayla Payne drove her in. Payne went 1-for-1 on the day, while Madeline Rider, Hannah Reid and Maddy Ladd all had one hit.

Galatia-Thompsonville 7, Pope County 1
Kennedy Harris smacked her first home run of the season in a 3-for-3 effort at the plate with three RBI and Dani Reynolds helped out her own cause on the mound by cranking out her first home run of the season in a 7-1 win over Pope County earlier this week.
Reynolds went the distance in the circle, striking out six and allowing one run on three hits.
Maddy Murphy was 2-for-3 at the plate with two RBI in the win for the Bearcats.

Galatia-Thompsonville 11, Gallatin County 0
Junior pitcher Jaden Cottrell got the win for the Bearcats with a seven inning performance where she struck out five and allowed two hits in Galatia-Thompsonville's 11-0 win over Greater Egyptian Conference foe Gallatin County.
The Bearcats are now 7-1 overall and 4-0 in GEC play.
At the plate, Leah Davis was 4-for-4 with two RBI, while Cassie Cotter was 2-for-3 with a pair of RBI and Kennedy Harris went 2-for-4 with three RBI.
