MARION -- Marion High School seniors Justin Saddoris and Jaden Lacy were both named to the SICA's Class 3A All-South boys basketball team, it was announced Wednesday.
In addition, Saddoris also garnered an All-State special mention honor by the IBCA in Class 3A-4A.
Saddoris averaged a team-high 14.0 points per game with a season-high of 32 points coming against Benton in the Carbondale Regional semifinals.
Lacy averaged 11.2 points with a season-high of 21 coming against Anna-Jonesboro during the West Frankfort Mid-Winter Classic.
Both players played all but one game of the season. Both missed Marion's pool-play game against Cairo at the Mid-Winter Classic -- the Wildcats lost 58-55 and ultimately finished third in the tournament.
Marion went on to finish with a 22-12 record, the most wins since 1988, and won both the Carbondale Regional and Centralia Sectional titles before falling in a tight game at the Springfield Super-Sectional.
Springfield Southeast, which handed Marion its final loss, went on to place second at the Class 3A state tournament behind Chicago Morgan Park.
Also named to the All-South team in 3A from the South Seven Conference were Centralia's Javon Williams Jr. and Jordan Maines, Mt. Vernon's Zach Williams and Carbondale's Darius Beane.
