There's no doubt that Gallatin County's Hailey Chubb and Harrisburg's Matty Hawkins have solidified their spot in the history and record books at their respective high schools, but now, the two can add one more accolade to their long list off accomplishments.
Both Chubb and Hawkins were named to the First Team Associated Press Class 1A & 2A All-State Girls Basketball Team Thursday.
Chubb, who received 67 points from fellow state media voters, was joined on the First Team by Annawan's Jordan VanHyfte; Danville Schlarman's Anaya Peoples; LaMoille-Ohio's Lexi Loftus and Stockton's Emily Offenheiser.
Chubb, a 6-foot senior guard at Gallatin County, finishes a remarkable four-year career as the school's all-time leading scorer with 3,106 points, 856 of which came in her senior season, where she helped lead the Hawks to a 16-11 record and won the Greater Egyptian Conference Tournament and a Regional title, before falling to New Athens in the Goreville Sectional semifinal.
Chubb was a 53 percent shooter this season and averaged 31 points per game. From the field, Chubb shot 62 percent and was a 27 percent shooter from 3-point range. At the free throw line, Chubb shot 78 percent and had six games this season where she scored 40 or more points, including the regional championship, where she scored a career-high 50 in the Hawks' win over Century.
This season, Chubb was named as the Marion Tournament MVP to start the season and was later named to the All Tournament Team at the Eldorado Mid-Winter Tournament.
Gallatin County head coach Tiffany Sauls said this accomplishment was a true honor for her outgoing senior.
"I am happy and proud of her for the season she had, as well as her career at Gallatin County," Sauls said. "I hope to see her continue her career at the college level."
Hawkins was one of two Harrisburg players to the the AP All-State Team. The senior forward named to the First Team, while classmate Lotte Miller was named to the Honorable Mention Team.

Hawkins got 83 points to join Eueka's Tessa Leman; Princeton's Anna Murray; Hillsboro's Sammi Matoush and Illini West's Baylee Clampitt on the First Team.
Hawkins, a 6-foot-2 senior forward at HHS was a four year starter was one of three seniors that helped Harrisburg to a school record 31-1 season and was the No. 1 ranked team in the girls 2A all season.
Hawkins averaged 13 points per game and 11 rebounds per game, while also averaging 6.2 blocks per game. This season she surpassed the 1,000 career points and 1,000 career rebounds mark and is currently No. 4 in IHSA history in career blocks.
Hawkins was named to All Tournament Team at the Harrisburg Invite and the Benton Christmas Tournament. She was named Most Valuable Player of the Eldorado Mid-Winter Classic.
Hawkins will play volleyball for Trinity International University in Chicago.
Meanwhile, Miller, a 5-foot-7 senior guard, like Hawkins, also went over the 1,000 career points mark this season and averaged 14.3 points per game, along with, 5.3 assists per game and 3.3 steals per game. Miller has been a 2 year starter and has helped Harrisburg to a school record 31 wins.
Miller was named to the All-Tournament Team at Harrisburg, Benton and Eldorado.
Miller has some offers, including Lindenwold-Belleville, North Park (Chicago), Ripon (Wisconsin) and JUCO offers from John A. Logan College and Southeastern Illinois College.
I am very happy for both Matty and Lotte," Harrisburg head coach Jake Stewart said. "They had great seasons, as well as, great careers. It's nice to see them get recognized for all their hard work. They represented our program and community very well these last four years. I could not be any more proud of them."
Holhubner, a 6-foot senior forward, was the leading scorer (15.9 points per game) on a a 22-9 Regional Championship Team. She averaged 9.2 rebounds,1.5 assists, 2.8 steals, and 3.9 blocks a game. She was Black Diamond All-Conference three years and was voted MVP this year.
She finished her career with 1,165 points (10th school history) , 683 rebounds (5th school history) and 250 blocks (1st in school history boys or girls) and cored 45 points in a game, setting a school record.
"I'm very proud of the things Lindsey accomplished in her time at VHS," head coach Jamie Kerley said. "But, I'm more proud of the person she is and how well she represents Lady Eagle basketball."
Holhubner recently signed scholarship papers with St. Louis College of Pharmacy to continue her basketball career.
