CRAB ORCHARD -- The two senior members of the Crab Orchard High School boys basketball team came up huge on Senior Night as the Trojans outlasted Hardin County, 62-52 in overtime, Friday night to finish Greater Egyptian Conference play.
Levi Vinson scored a game-high 22 points and fellow senior Cameron Stephens scored all of his 16 points in either the fourth quarter or overtime as both finished their home careers.
Hardin County led 40-33 going into the final period, but Stephens drilled three 3-pointers and freshman Quentin Meyers hit five free throws to help force the overtime.
Stephens hit another triple and both he and Vinson hit four free throws in the extra session.
Meyers finished with 13 points and Hunter Throgmorton had 11, including three 3-pointers, as just four players scored for the Trojans. Freshman Dylan Elders didn't score but played the whole game and grabbed a team-high eight rebounds.
Crab Orchard also defeated Shawnee, 76-60, on the road Thursday night.
Stephens hit five 3-pointers and led the Trojans with 18 points and Throgmorton had 16, while Vinson put in 15 and Meyers had 13. Elders chipped in nine.
The Trojans (18-10) face Hardin County again on Monday night to begin postseason play at the Gallatin County 1A Regional, with the winner earning a date with Cairo in Wednesday's semifinals.
