CRAB ORCHARD -- Quentin Meyers hit two free throws with 5.7 seconds left to lift the Crab Orchard High School boys basketball team to a 57-56 win over Carrier Mills on Tuesday night.
The Trojans, who are now 17-8, trailed 50-44 going into the fourth quarter.
Cameron Stephens hit five 3-pointers and led Crab Orchard with 15 points. Levi Vinson added 10 and Meyers finished with nine. Dylan Elders came off the bench to scored 12 points and haul in seven rebounds.
On Monday night, the Trojans raced out to a 20-point lead and held on for a 68-60 win over Shawnee.
Hunter Throgmorton and Tony Lakotich both hit two 3-pointers and Vinson also had six points as the Trojans jumped out to a 24-4 lead in the first quarter, only to see that advantage cut in half to 30-20 at halftime.
Throgmorton hit three more triples and scored 13 of his 19 points in the third quarter, but Shawnee still inched closer and trailed just 49-45 going into the fourth.
Elders scored eight of his career-high 10 points off the bench in the final eight minutes to help the Trojans hang on for the win. The freshman also had seven rebounds.
Throgmorton's 19 points led Crab Orchard, while Meyers had 15 points and 13 rebounds. Vinson added 13 points and Elders had 10.
The Trojans travel to NCOE on Friday.
