Alumni Corner: After record breaking game, Buss looks for new highs

Tyler Smithpeters -- SIU (Harrisburg HS)
Smithpeters scored 10 points and played 31 minutes in SIU's 83-72 loss at Valparaiso Saturday afternoon.
The Saluki senior went 4-for-7 shooting from the field and was 2-of-4 from 3-point range, while pulling down four rebounds (three defensive). He finished with three steals, one turnover and one assist.

Bahari Amaya -- Illinois-Springfield (Harrisburg HS)
Amaya scored three points on 1-of-3 shooting in Illinois-Springfield's 86-72 win over McKendree Saturday.
The Harrisburg native went 1-of-2 from 3-point range and pulled down two rebounds (defensive) in eight minutes of action.

Justin Carpenter -- SEMO (Mt. Carmel HS)
Carpenter scored two points and played 15 minutes in SEMO's 76-71 loss to Austin Peay Saturday night.
The Mt. Carmel native and Redhawks freshman was 1-of-3 from the field, pulling down two rebounds and finishing with two turnovers, one assist and one steal.
On Thursday, Carpenter had five points in SEMO's 89-73 loss at Murray State.
Carpenter was 2-of-6 from the field and 0-1 from 3-point range, while hitting on 1-of-2 free throws. He pulled down four rebounds (three defensive) and had three turnovers and one assist in 29 minutes of action.

Austin Wills -- Trevecca (Benton HS)
Wills played five minutes, but didn't score in Trevecca Nazarene's 80-65 loss to Walsh University Saturday. Wills was 0-for-2 from the field and grabbed a rebound in loss.
On Thursday, Wills played 21 points, scoring nine points in the Trojans' 61-57 win over Malone.
Wills went 4-for-6 from the field and 1-of-2 from 3-point range, while pulling down one rebound and finishing with an assist in nine minutes of work.

Alison Webb -- Lindenwood (Goreville HS)
Webb was 6-of-13 from the field and scored 12 points in Lindenwood's 79-50 win over Hannibal-Lagrange Saturday.
The Goreville native and Lynx senior pulled down seven rebounds (five defensive) and had three assists, three blocks, two turnovers and one steal in 23 minutes.
On Thursday, Webb had a double-double in the Lynx 74-50 win over Stephens College.
Webb had a team-high 18 points and 10 boards (six defensive) and she finished with three assists, three turnovers and two blocks in the win.

Tyra Buss -- Indiana (Mt. Carmel HS)
Buss had a team-high 19 points, a game-high nine assists and tied a season-high five steals as Indiana knocked off Purdue 72-54 Saturday. Buss extended her career scoring record to 1,950 points. With the five steals, Buss (252 steals) is now eight steals from breaking the Hoosiers career steals record.  With her nine assists, Buss (478) is 56 assists from breaking the Hoosiers career assist record. Indiana travels to Michigan on Wednesday night. Tipoff in Crisler Center is set for 6 p.m.
