Bulldogs beat Meridian, Vienna at Rangerette Classic

Harrisburg won a pair of games Wednesday in the opening day of the Rangerette Christmas Classic at Benton High School, knocking off Meridian 61-46 and Vienna 65-42.
In the win over Meridian, Matty Hawkins had a double-double, scoring a game-high 20 points, while grabbing 16 rebounds.
Lotte Miller netted 19 in the win for the Bulldogs, who remained perfect on the season, as the senior guard went 7-of-15 shooting from the floor, including a 5-for-9 clip from the free throw line.
Karsyn Davis also notched double figures, scoring 10 points on 4-of-8 shooting from the floor.
Jessica Hopson added eight for the Bulldogs, while Madeline Rider and Lydia Miller each scored two points.
Harrisburg shot 24-for-66 for 36 percent in the win and went 4-of-17 from behind the line and knocked down 9-of-21 foul shots.
The Bulldogs out rebounded Meridian 47-28, coming up with six steals and forcing the Bobcats into 17 turnovers.
In the win over Vienna, Harrisburg put three players in double figures as Lotte Miller led all scorers with 20 points. Hopson chipped in with 16 points on 5-of-12 shooting from the field, including 3-of-9 from 3-point range and 3-of-4 from the free throw line.
Hawkins, who had six blocks and eight rebounds, accounted for 13 points.
Davis netted nine in the win, while Brooke Meylor finished with four. Lydia Miller and Rider both had two points.
Harrisburg held Vienna to 27 percent shooting, while out rebounding the Eagles 31-27 and forcing them into 13 turnovers.
