MARION -- Cassandra Woods returned after missing a game with an injury and scored 21 points as the Marion High School girls basketball team blasted Gallatin County, 58-37, Monday night at Cuss Wilson Gymnasium.
Abby Bayer added 17 points for the Lady Wildcats, who are now 7-2 and have won four straight games.
Bayer scored eight of her points in the first quarter to help Marion jump out to a double-digit lead.
The Lady Wildcats led 18-8 after those first eight minutes, then went into halftime with a 34-15 lead. Jasa Bell had all eight of her points in the opening stanza.
Gallatin County went on a 13-5 run in the third quarter to cut the margin to 11 at the third stop, but Marion extended the lead in the fourth as Woods scored 11 points in the frame.
McKenzie Orange and Jackie Drury both added four points and Lauryn Kadela had two for the Lady Wildcats, who also beat Gallatin County 62-52 in overtime during the Lady Cat Tip-Off Classic.
Hailey Chubb, who was named the MVP of that tournament, led the Lady Hawks with 24 points in Monday's game.
Also scoring for Gallatin County were Emma Brockett (5), Gracie Sauls (4), Audrey Jackson (2) and Amy Bourland (2).
Marion plays at Murphysboro on Thursday.
