During the eight-week program, Britton completed a variety of training which included classroom study and practical instruction on naval customs, first aid, firefighting, water safety and survival, and shipboard and aircraft safety. An emphasis was also placed on physical fitness.

The course is designed to train students to perform vehicle maintenance on military and commercial design special purpose vehicles. These vehicles include general, preventive and specific purpose, base maintenance, heavy construction vehicles, aircraft towing and service equipment vehicles, and vehicular equipment.

Hare and his wife, Pat, were joined by some of Tate’s family members and friends at his gravesite in the Masonic & Odd Fellows Cemetery.
