Dorothy L. (Carter) Tindall, 91, of Royalton passed away at 10:37 a.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at the Marshall Browning Hospital in DuQuoin.

Funeral services for Mrs. Tindall will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 27, at Vantrease Funeral Home in Royalton with Brother Merle Macke officiating. Burial will be at Miners Cemetery east of Royalton. Visiting hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Dorothy was born Jan. 3, 1918, in Sandridge, Ill., to Charles and Martha “Bana” Carter.

She married Ralph C. Tindall Oct. 18, 1934, in Bush. He preceded her in death Jan. 24, 1986.
Mrs. Tindall is survived by four grandchildren, Shawn Tindall and his wife, Lisa, and Charles Tindall all of Willisville, Virginia “Jennie” Vreeland and her husband, Mark, of Zeigler and Megan Tindall of Murphysboro; and eight great-grandchildren, Anthony, Arial, Cory, Tommy, Cody, Charlie, Shawn and Madison.

Her parents; a son, Charles Tindall; and a brother, Brown Turner also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Tindall was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse who had worked at the Marshall Browning Hospital, for Dr. Ben Kinsman and Dr. Greg Furry all in Du Quoin. Nursing was her life. She was of the Pentecostal faith and a homemaker.
