Martha Elizabeth Angus, 89, of Sesser died at 6:25 a.m. Thursday, March 4, 2010, at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mt. Vernon.

A funeral service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, March 6, at the Brayfield-Gilbert Funeral Home in Sesser, officated by Brother Larry Cook and the Rev. Julie Smith. Burial will be in Horse Prairie Cemetery in Sesser. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Martha was born on Jan. 10, 1921, in Williamson County, the daughter of Henry and Nettie Ruth (Crain) Stacks.

She married Emerson E. Stacks, and he preceded her in death. She then married Chester A. Angus, and he preceded her in death.

A homemaker, Mrs. Angus was a member of the Methodist Church in Sesser.

She is survived by her children, Ruth and Paul Pankey of Belleville, Emerson and Cheryl Stacks of Belleville, Bobby Jo Angus Sr. of Sesser, Chester and Joann Angus of Sesser, and Gary and Suzy Angus of West Frankfort; 18 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Bill Stacks of Herrin, Gerte Hines of New Athens and Barbara Roberson of Fairview.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands and one brother, Jack Stacks.
