Kirby Doxsie, 66, of Benton passed away Friday morning, June 19, 2009 at his home.

Funeral services will be held at the Morton & Johnston Funeral Home in Benton at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, with the Rev. Jeff Stark and Billy Grammer officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

He was born in Benton on Aug. 14, 1942, the son of Derling and Grace (Leonard) Doxsie.
He married Judy (Herbert) on March 9, 1963 in Benton, and she survives.

Mr. Doxsie was a lifelong auto body repairman and mechanic.

His life was his family, especially his three grandsons.

His other interest was his Tuesday night music sessions with the band and friends.

Mr. Doxsie is survived by his wife Judy Doxsie of Benton; two daughters, Toni Luster of Benton and Jamie Conley and husband Jim of Tunnel Hill; three grandsons, Noah, Brody, and Brendan; brother-in-law Joe Herbert and wife Carolynn of West Frankfort; sister-in-law Jean Furlow and husband Bill of Christopher, sister-in-law Mary Doxsie of Benton and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Doxsie was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Travis, and three nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of DaVita Dialysis Center in Benton for their special care of Kirby.
