James Allen Creek, 48, of Royalton passed away suddenly, at 10:10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010, at the Herrin Hospital.

Funeral services for Mr. Creek will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, at Vantrease Funeral Home in Royalton with Mr. Fred Russell officiating. Burial will be at Mulkeytown Cemetery. Visiting hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

James was born Oct. 9, 1961, in Christopher to William Clarence and Nancy Lee (Stone) Creek Jr.

He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Nancy Lee Creek of Royalton; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Elizabeth Creek of Royalton; and two sisters and a brother-in-law, Sandy Rose and her significant other, Michael Pearl of Royalton, and Janice and Kerry Meskill of Lake Dallas, Texas; his best friend, Sherman Jarvis of Hurst; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Carol Kibbons.

Mr. Creek was of the protestant faith and worked at TNT Recycling in Hurst.
