Lola Mae Talbert, 90, of Wayne City died Thursday morning, Feb. 4, 2010, in Mt. Vernon.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, at the Wayne City Baptist Church with her son-in-law, the Rev. Don Bullard, officiating. Burial will be in the Thomason Cemetery in Wayne City. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church.
The Johnston Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon is in charge of arrangements.
She was born in Wayne County on Dec. 11, 1919, the daughter of Francis Marion and Sarah Naomi (Darr) Butler.
She married Louis Oliver Talbert on Jan. 24, 1936, in Fairfield, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 10, 1995.
Mrs. Talbert was a retired garment worker, retiring in 1983 after 26 years. She was an Avon representative for 10 years, and was a member of the Avon Presidents Club.
Mrs. Talbert was a former member of the Wayne City Baptist Church and a current member of Jackson Grove Baptist Church in Benton.
She is survived by her two daughters, Diane Kaye Bullard and husband, Danny, of Sims, and Jeanette Pamela Bullard and husband, Don, of Thompsonville; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Cooper of Peoria and Jewell Desler of Peoria; and one brother, Virgil Butler of Rochelle.
Mrs. Talbert was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers and three sisters.
