Evelyn P. Beasley, 102, of Benton and a former Sesser resident, died Thursday morning, Jan. 28, 2010, at the Helia HealthCare Center in Benton.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, at the Morton & Johnston Funeral Home in Benton with the Rev. Bryant Harris officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic & Odd Fellows Cemetery. Visitation will be after 12 noon Sunday at the funeral home.
Evelyn was born in Frisco on Aug. 7, 1907, the daughter of John Ewing and Sarah Lavine Jane (McKenny) Clinton.
She married Alonzo Beasley on Dec. 2, 1923, in Whittington, and he preceded her in death on March 4, 1973.
If anyone was ever in need, be it food or money, Evelyn was always ready to help.
Mrs. Beasley is survived by her daughter, Wanda Treece of Benton; son, Bill Beasley and wife, Ruby, of Florida; daughter-in-law, JoAnn Beasley of Benton; grandchildren, Monte Beasley and wife, Patty, Joyce Robinson and husband, Lee, Jane Jerkins and husband, Floyd, Mary Frey, Bob Beasley and wife, Lyn, and Judy Jones and husband, David; 11 great-grandchildren; and several great great-grandchilden.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Don; two grandsons, Mike and Larry Jack; several brothers and sisters; and son-in-law, Jack Treece.
