David Patton, 66, of Valier died Sunday, March 7, 2010, at the Franklin Hospital in Benton.
A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, March 11, at the Gilbert Funeral Home in Christopher, officiated by the Rev. Julie Smith. Burial will be in Knight Cemetery in Buckner. Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Fund and will be accepted at the funeral home.
David was born on Feb. 24, 1944, in West Frankfort, the son of William E. and Jean (Lambert) Patton.
He was a security guard for WPS in Marion. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Valier.
He is survived by his brother, Stephen Patton of Valier; sister, Susan Patton of Valier; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and a special friend and pet, Abby.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
