Samuel D. Griffiths II, 26, of Christopher died Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2010, at the Herrin Hospital.

A funeral service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, at the Gilbert Funeral Home in Christopher, officiated by the Rev. Bill Porter. Burial will be in the Mulkeytown Cemetery in Mulkeytown. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family and will be accepted at the funeral home.

Samuel was born Oct. 29, 1983, in Baltimore, Md., the son of Samuel D. Griffiths of Rapid City, S.D., and Beth (Flatt) Lewis of Christopher.

He worked construction.

He is survived by his parents; grandparents, Patt Flatt of Christopher, O.D. Flatt of Dowell, and William and Marie Griffiths of Rapid City, S.D.; and siblings, Sarah Griffiths of Christopher, Sean Griffiths of Du Quoin and Saul Griffiths of Benton.
