Jennifer (Gilbert) Preuss of House Springs, Mo., formerly of Christopher, was born Nov. 9, 1971, in Du Quoin to Randy and Becky (Spruell) Gilbert, and entered into rest, Saturday, Aug. 21, 2010, at her residence in House Springs, Mo., at the age of 38 years, 9 months and 12 days.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 23, at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Highway 30, Cedar Hill, MO 63016. Visitation will also be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 24, at Gilbert Funeral Home, 209 N. Emma, Christopher, IL 62822. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Gilbert Funeral Home, Christopher. Interment will be in the Mulkeytown Cemetery, Mulkeytown.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Joe Gilbert and Charlie Spruell.
She is survived by her husband, Chris Preuss of House Springs, Mo., married June 14, 2000, in Hawaii; two children, Jordyn Preuss, of House Springs, Mo., and CJ Preuss, of House Springs, Mo.; parents, Randy and Becky (Spruell) Gilbert of Christopher; one brother, Rodney Gilbert, of Beardstown; grandparents, Helen Gilbert of Christopher and Betty Spruell of Christopher; and aunts, uncles, cousins and many other relatives and friends.
Jennifer was an all-around exquisite person with a kind heart and a deep passion for others. She had taught at Northwest R-1 School District for fourteen years and devoted her life to the education of children simply because she enjoyed spending time with them. She was a passionate and proud mother whom supported her children in every event they had.
Jennifer had also dedicated her life to being a foundation for others with cancer by being a captain for the Relay For Life. She adored scrapbooking and serving as the computer technician for Cedar Springs Elementary School. She is fondly remembered and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
