Libbie Vaughn, 96, of Benton died Sunday, June 28, 2009, at the Stonebridge Senior Living Center in Benton.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, at the Morton & Johnston Funeral Home in Benton with the Rev. Burt Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery in Sesser. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Libbie was born in Benton on Oct. 9, 1912, the daughter of James and Ida (Dillon) Phillips. She married Harold Vaughn on July 8, 1933.
Mrs. Vaughn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold Vaughn; sons, James and Jerry Vaughn; a daughter, June Hawkins; and several brothers and sisters.
Surviving are her son, Charles Vaughn of Vacaville, Calif.; grandsons, Terry Hawkins of Benton, Jerry J. Vaughn of Benton, Steve Vaughn of Elk Grove, Calif., and Scott Vaughn of Sacramento, Calif.; granddaughters, Brenda Lea Risley of Murphysboro and Sheryl Hass of Vacaville, Calif.; six great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild.
