Jesse “Jay” Corey, 47, of Xenia and formerly of Sesser died Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010 in Flora Hospital in Flora.
Services will be held Monday, Feb. 1 at 7 p.m. in Brayfield-Gilbert Funeral Home in Sesser, with Brother Cliff Stroup and Bro. Mark Miller officiating. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until the time of service on Monday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Jay Grandchildren and will be accepted at the funeral home.
He was born June 18, 1966 in Benton, the son of Joseph Corey and Flora (Kilner) Corey.
He married Sandra Bryan of Salem.
Mr. Corey worked at Xenia Manufacturing.
Survivors include children Aleccia and Kyle Shaffer of St. Louis, Mo., stepchildren, Charles Stroup Jr. of Iuka, Cliff Stroup of St. Charles, Mo., James Stroup of Salem, Jared Stroup of Iuka and Samantha Stroup of Salem; grandchildren Gabriel and Lillian Shaffer; brothers and sisters, Sharon and Charles Baxter of Sesser, Lori and Robert Tisdale of Benton, Rick Corey of Flint, Mich., Randy Corey of Pasadena, Texas, and Ron Corey of Topeka, Kansas, plus several nieces and nephews and his fiance Amanda Powers of Xenia.
