Dorothy Mae Silkwood, 89, of Sesser died Monday, Aug. 23, 2010, at home.

A graveside funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 27, at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Sesser, officiated by Brother Mark Miller. Visitation will be from 1 to 1:45 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the graveside service start at 2 p.m.

The Brayfield-Gilbert Funeral Home in Sesser is in charge of arrangements.

Dorothy was born April 12, 1921, in Sesser, the daughter of Charles E. and Icy Villa (Dye) Silkwood.

She was a longtime employee of Slankard Publishing Company in Sesser. Also, she was a member of the Woman's Auxiliary Corps during World War II.

She is survived by a nephew, Charles E. Silkwood III and his wife, Barbara, of Huntsville, Ala.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Charles E. Silkwood II.
