Carolyn Sue Barnett, 70, of Benton died at 11:50 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 26, 2010, at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center, Mt. Vernon.   

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home in Benton. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 29, at the funeral home with Brother Marty Shadowen officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic & Odd Fellows Cemetery, Benton.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.

Mrs. Barnett was born Sept. 10, 1939, in West City, the daughter of Otto Sanders and Treasa (Sanders) Sanders.  She married Daniel Zeboski, and he preceded her in death on April 9, 2005. She married Paul W. Barnett Jr. on Nov. 10, 1972, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 31, 2005.

Carolyn was a retired secretary having worked for Dr. Parks in Herrin. She attended the West City Church of God. She was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed watching local dirt-track racing and enjoyed listening to country music, especially the Black Lace Band. Carolyn loved shopping and spending time with her granddaughter Jayden.

Surviving relatives include three children, Alan Zeboski, Benton, Lisa Bybee, Benton, and Shane Barnett, Carlinville; one granddaughter, Jayden Bybee, Benton; a sister, Viola Harris, Christopher; and several nieces and nephews and special friends and family in the Black Lace Band, Deborah D., Billy Wayne, Billy D., Cindy and Kathy.

Mrs. Barnett was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; one son, Danny Zeboski; one brother, William “Dub” Sanders; and six sisters, Verlie, Edna Mae, and Maxine Sanders, Pat Hopson, Velma Arnold and Norma Jeanine Eubanks.
